Japanese star breezes in but it's just a glimpse for the female fans

A tornado blew through Harbour City on Monday night. The sudden storm was called Yutaka Takenouchi (centre above). The Japanese star, who has never been in Hong Kong before, was making an appearance at the reopening of Japanese label D'urban's shop in Tsim Sha Tsui. Famous for his television dramas and serials, the actor's arrival brought many female fans to crowd around the store, eager for a glimpse.

When he finally showed up, screaming fans rushed for a closer view. Meanwhile, their male partners retreated to the back of the shop bewildered by the excitement. Unfortunately, Takenouchi didn't stay very long. He only arrived on Monday morning and was at the event for barely half an hour before retreating.

'This is my first time here and I was totally surprised by the number of reporters and photographers waiting at the airport for me. I was quite shocked because I didn't expect it,' Takenouchi said.

'I have always wanted to visit Hong Kong and was hoping to have some time to look around and do some shopping, but unfortunately I still have filming to finish in Tokyo so I must leave Hong Kong tomorrow.'

After a quick ribbon-cutting with the executives, a champagne toast and handshake with everyone including a female D'urban executive in Hong Kong - who then loudly told everyone she was not going to wash her hand that night - the Japanese idol was gone as quickly as he arrived. With him, the mob of female fans also disappeared. Luckily, this passing storm left no casualties or property damage in its wake.
