Kitchen

Fare The Sunday brunch buffet changes its theme regularly; this month it is Mediterranean style, with plenty of seafood and steaks.

Ambience Diners will either love or hate the view of the docks through the floor-to-ceiling windows - something most restaurants would not put on show - but we loved it. The restaurant is comfortable and relaxed. The buffet counters are in another room with the open kitchen. They are far from the seating area, so you do not have people constantly walking past you. On the day we visited, two living statues provided the entertainment.

Cost HK$598 for adults including free-flowing champagne and HK$290 for children (aged four to 12).

Who to bring Friends who talk a lot, as it's likely you will be there for hours.

Turn-ons The food, especially the prime ribs that were roasted to perfection, the fresh and sweet crab legs and lobster, and the butter chicken, which was tender and succulent. Service is outstanding; the helpful staff will even patiently talk your brunch buddies through how to get to the hotel, which is not easy to find if you are not familiar with West Kowloon.

Turn-offs This restaurant is quite noisy, so it is not the place to bring your significant other for a romantic date or to cure your hangover from the night before. The dessert table was also a bit of disappointment. Although taking up one whole side of the buffet area, the only item that received two thumbs up was the creme brulee.

Drinks Our champagne was topped up regularly, and there is sangria made from either red or white wine. Fresh juices are popular; the mixed berry juice is highly recommended.
