Singer becomes darling of the herbivores as Asia's sexiest vegetarian
Khalil Fong Dai-tung? Sexy? Certainly not in the conventional hunky sense, but maybe - as the old Huey Lewis song suggests - it's hip to be square. The skinny, bespectacled singer might be considered somewhat appealing for his soulful, genuine songs, but to the folk at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta), the herbivore is downright hot.
The Hong Kong singer was just voted Asia's sexiest male vegetarian for 2010. Chinese artist Jane Zhang Liangying, who came to prominence on the mainland after finishing third in the 2005 Super Girl singing contest, is Asia's sexiest female veggie.
The two beat out perennial contenders including Maggie Quigley and Faye Wong, Indian star Amitabh Bachchan and Barbie Hsu Hsi-yuan. It's the first time a Chinese male star has won this honour, which only goes to show that most male celebrities around here are still macho he-men who like to gorge on roast pork and prime rib.
