In another second-round debate on the same motion, China Holiness Church Living Spirit College edged out Po Leung Kuk Wu Chung College, thanks to their better presentation skills and strong rebuttals.

The winner took the negative side in the debate held on April 19 at Wu Chung College.

Adjudicator Clare Hutton, a native English teacher at Sha Tin Government Secondary School, said: 'Debaters from the negative [side] were able to maintain good eye contact with me and the audience. They performed confidently and did not rely on note cards. Wu Chung, on the other hand, were reading a little too much from their note cards.'

Hutton awarded the best speaker prize to the winning team's Raven Ho Yin-pong for his outstanding rebuttals.

'Raven was able to rebut more than one point at a time. His rebuttals were detailed,' she said.
