Health authorities warned people not to buy or use the slimming product LAMI after tests on a sample showed the presence of undeclared ingredients, sibutramine and spironolactone, which are principally used in the treatment of obesity but can only be dispensed on prescription. The tests were carried out after a woman, 28, developed psychiatric symptoms including hallucinations while using the product last week. She was discharged from hospital on Monday.
