Lee and Prebble set to clean up on the dirt

Almond Lee and Brett Prebble hold the aces in the first two legs of the Triple Trio at tomorrow night's all-weather track meeting at Sha Tin.

They have combined 16 times this campaign for a solid 25 per cent winning strike rate - on the turf and dirt - and look set to bolster their statistics through the in-form pair of Sabina and Precision Magic.

It'll be a tricky start, but Sabina, who came within a neck of defying gate 13 for a third straight win over the 1,800m last month and had finished thereabouts in two earlier dirt mile efforts, should enjoy a soft run from an inside gate and looks a logical banker under title hungry Prebble.

Tremendous Plus has made an impression late to figure in the finish in six of nine starts this term and should take to the dirt with all the favours from gate one, while Best Noodle, Upside Of Anger, Daily Double and Amazing Choice look the best of an open bunch fighting for the final spot.

Precision Magic has hit a purple patch of form and will be hard to keep out of the placings in the middle pin.

The switch to the dirt three starts back did the trick for the four-year-old as Prebble guided him from last at the 600m to topple his rivals, with Win-A-Lot in third, before being overhauled in the final few strides by Win-A-Lot next time out.

He then went back to the turf for a closing third behind Ottimo and rival Viva Guy last month at the city track and looks spot-on for a return to the winner's circle from gate three.

Win-A-Lot Viva Guy, Chater D'Cat, Be Grateful, Super General and Spicy Fruity are other worthy players.

My Whisky has been an absolute model of consistency and looks the key to the final leg.

He's been a tough one to run down on either surface, but especially over the minimum dirt trip where he has held on for two wins, a second and third from five tries and will give them something to chase from gate five under Howard Cheng Yu-tin.

It's hard to go pass Flying China as the dual banker with Prebble taking the honours this time. He is again drawn wide, but has come from an impossible position from similar gates for a win and third over this surface and trip.

Mutual Friendship, St Didar, Longwah Rising, Happy Tumbler and Well Noted are other notables.
