After introducing its column wheel chronograph movement last year, Longines follows up with the Longines Column-Wheel Chronograph and Longines Column-Wheel Sports Chronograph collections, both fitted with this exclusive calibre.

'We will be promoting the column-wheel chronograph movement aggressively this year,' says Walter von Kanel, president of Longines.

'It's very smooth - the Rolls Royce of the Longines chronograph movements. We think our competitors will have nightmares over this.'

The key novelty this year is the Longines Lindbergh's Atlantic Voyage Watch.

Charles Lindbergh was the first man to fly non-stop from New York to Paris and, in 1933, the American aviator embarked upon a 47,000km trip with his wife in search of possible future air routes across the North Atlantic.

Lindbergh wore a wrist chronograph specially created by Longines for the expedition, and this year the brand is reissuing this watch as a tribute to the pilot.
