Sticky rice cakes are OK, but no yummy devil's food for Jessica

It was another test of willpower for American-Chinese model Jessica Cambensy when she was invited as guest of honour to help launch a range of traditional Chinese desserts at Starbucks' retro-themed outlet in Central.

Cambensy had no problem posing for photos with traditional sticky rice cakes and red bean soup but had to be careful not to indulge in what she called 'yummy devil's food'. The 21-year-old model is on a strict sugar- and carb-free diet in order to look her best in bikini shots for her photo book due for release at the Hong Kong Book Fair in July .

To ensure healthier meals, she often cooks at home for herself and her boyfriend, who has been very supportive of the book project, even if it meant circulating revealing images of her.

'He doesn't mind. He's a very sweet guy and always encourages me to do whatever I like,' she said.

However, Cambensy's mum won't be able to enjoy any of her cooking on Mother's Day.

'I can't make it back to the US to be with her because I'm too tied up at work,' she said. 'I'll send her flowers and chocolates and definitely go home in September to celebrate her birthday. Otherwise she might kill me.'
