Ridiculous pushchair ban

ON April 17, my family visited the Gold Coast Hotel to have an early dinner and check out their facilities, for a weekend stay. We entered the hotel lobby with our baby in a pushchair. Security guards demanded that we take the pushchair to the concierge and carry the baby, who weighs 17 pounds.

The manager explained that pushchairs were not allowed as they damage their marble floor. We have never heard of anything like this in Hong Kong or anywhere else. As they are so worried about their floor, why stop at pushchairs, stop wheelchair users and let them crawl around, stop people walking with shoes on, or stop people altogether.
