Stressed out by job offers

While having a good old-fashioned chinwag with her girlfriends during afternoon tea recently, Baat Gwaa found out that two of them are being troubled by very different career issues. One is stressed out because she has multiple job offers (Baat Gwaa wants to have that kind of stress) and the other is contemplating a career change.

Luckily, our career adviser friend Lily was with us. Her advice to Mary, who has too much on her plate, is to look at her personal plans before making a decision. Her first offer has better career prospects, the second one more money and the last more overseas travel. Mary chose money because she wants to focus more on her family.

Lily says job growth is extremely strong in areas such as digital marketing and customer relationship management. Another potentially high-growth area is mobile marketing, which is the sector the second friend wants to switch to.

She explains that mobile marketing, such as online and digital marketing, has become a highly popular and viable strategy for businesses to boost their market shares. And, because it's relatively new, it will offer more exciting and new career opportunities, with salaries comparable to traditional marketing jobs.
