Staring down the barrel of his first jockey premiership win, Brett Prebble is poised to build on his seven-win lead over Douglas Whyte and is the one to beat in the Sha Tin Jockey Challenge this afternoon.

Prebble was posted $1.60 favourite overnight ahead of Whyte ($5), with Derek Leung Ka-chun ($8) also boasting a strong book of rides.

Those looking wider in the market could well find Jeff Lloyd the big value at an opening quote of $40 or Darren Beadman good overs at $25 - but both will need to make the most of their best chances to pose any threat to Prebble, who can take maximum points in the first race aboard impressive trial winner Romantic City.

Trained by Ricky Yiu Poon-fai, this debutant blitzed his rivals in a recent barrier trial after leading by 10 lengths in the middle stages before being eased down late for a cosy win.

It won't stop there, however, Value Choice and Outdoor Pegasus can add to Prebble's tally, and Sugar On Top can give Triple Trio players a kick-start in race four.

Amazing Venture and Global Ruler are likely improvers in races five and six with Prebble engaged, and flying filly Sweet Sanette looks a live chance for the hoop to extend his margin.
