More schools take part

It's that time of year again - we have reached the finals of the Battle of the Books. The event grows in popularity each year with more schools joining.

This year, Maryknoll Convent School and Victoria Shanghai Academy joined the secondary section, and Kingston International School took part in the primary section. A total of 19 secondary and 23 primary schools vied for top titles.

The finals for the primary section were held at Kellett School, and for the secondary section, at Chinese International School. Competition was fierce. Beacon Hill School emerged as the primary section winner and KGV School won the secondary section.

The new reading lists for the next school year will be added to the BoB website soon - find out what you need to read and get started. There is also a modified list for schools who do not wish to read the full 20-title list. Remember, BoB is all about reading for pleasure.

If your school is interested in being part of this fun event, contact the chair of the BoB Committee, Janet Mann, by e-mail: hkbattleofthebooks @gmail.com. And remember to check out the BoB website: www.bobinhk.com
