A University of Hong Kong professor, accused of indecent assault by two students, was acquitted after a judge found the trial magistrate took a 'fatally flawed approach'. In the Court of First Instance, Mrs Justice Verina Bokhary quashed the conviction of associate Professor Terence Joseph Shortall, who had been sentenced to nine weeks' jail on two counts of indecent assault. After the ruling, Shortall said outside court he was delighted and felt he had cleared his name.
