Past pleasures

The Memory collection by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola soaks up more than its fair share of elegance. While the past is the inspiration for the Victorian-looking free-standing bathtubs and sink units, the designer has given them a fresh look by using modern materials such as the composite Cristalplant. Since opening her own design studio in 2001, Urquiola's output has been prolific and she's lucky enough to have some of the best design houses on speed dial: De Padova, B&B Italia, Alessi, Driade, Kartell, Flos and Moroso, to name a few. A name to watch.

Classic touch

Inspired by fashion designer Coco Chanel, the Coco bathroom collection by Italian designer Paola Navone raises the sophistication bar. Designed with femininity in mind, it features polished and lacquered textures in black and white. The vanity (above) is made with white oak and the sink is ceramic. Falper also has a line of beautifully designed products that includes basins, bathtubs, mirrors, lighting and taps. Visit www.falper.it for more.
