Trainer John Size appeared unconcerned yesterday about Sight Winner's place in the Yasuda Kinen field in Tokyo on Sunday, despite the gelding's failure to appear at the trackwork session. Sight Winner had been out on the track on Tuesday, but Size said yesterday that there was a minor issue with the seven-year-old that may see him missing from the remaining morning work sessions.

'The frog of his right fore foot is sore - I wouldn't categorise it as a stone bruise, in fact I'm not sure how you'd categorise it, but it is uncomfortable for him,' Size said. 'The farrier has made a special shoe for him, to keep the weight off the sore part, and that seems to be helping. At this stage I'm not too worried. He just didn't need to be doing anything today to make it worse. He'll race, assuming that soreness is gone by Sunday.'

Size conceded that the 2009 Champions Mile winner would have been out on the track yesterday in different circumstances, but doesn't believe that missing a track appearance will make any difference to the horse's ability to win the final leg of the Asian Mile Challenge.

'I can't see him working on Friday either, but his fitness for the race isn't a question today, only his soundness. He's been in training all season, he's had, maybe, 10 races,' said Size, who was runner-up with Armada in the Yasuda Kinen two years ago and sixth and eighth respectively with Sight Winner and Armada last year.
