Girl with a One Track Mind

Girl with a One Track Mind by Abby Lee Pan, HK$194

So much fuss has been made about Girl With a One Track Mind you'd think sex had been invented yesterday. Based on the raunchy blog by Abby Lee (real name Zoe Margolis), it's a blow-by-blow account of her escapades from March 17, 2004, to January 10 the following year. Expect the usual - adventures with strangers, other women, online dates - and the not so regular: Lee tells how an internal examination by a male doctor turned her on. Included are advice lists, for example 'The Girl's Guide to Being a 21st-Century Woman', which puts at No1 position: 'Always pay for yourself on a date (or at least financially reciprocate another time). Otherwise, you are just exploiting a man for his money ...' Margolis, who was outed by the Sunday Times, now writes for other British newspapers and her book is being adapted into a screenplay. Readers who consider Sex and the City explicit would blush at these blogs, and romantics probably would shudder at the pure physicality of some encounters. Margolis, however, reveals at the end that she's not just out there for sex but because she wants to find a husband - just like Carrie and crew.
