The Security Bureau lowered the outbound travel alert for Thailand from red to amber yesterday. This means the country shows signs of threat and travellers should monitor the situation and exercise caution, and that those who are there should attend to personal safety. The red warning had been in force since June 2. Hong Kong residents who need help abroad can call the 24-hour Immigration Department's hotline on (852) 1868.
