World powers have finally agreed on sanctions against Iran for its nuclear programme. The new restrictions are against Iran's military and banking sectors, and ban Iran from mining uranium. The UN member states are going to monitor Iran's central bank to make sure it is not buying nuclear-sensitive material.

Iran says it has the right to pursue alternative energy needs. But the United States and other Western powers are worried it will develop a nuclear weapon that radical Islamic terrorists could control.
