Fearing CD sales as flat as a pancake, singer appeals for a little heavy breathing

The Pancakes is something I can handle only in small doses. The indie one-girl band, not the food, can be amusing, though. Her high-pitch, almost childlike voice has been heard in Kowloon Motor Bus and PCCW commercials. Though most people have no idea what she is singing, at least it wasn't the Twins or some other noxious Canto-pop act from the Emperor music group. So I was actually looking forward to The Pancakes' new CD, Sometimes I just can't remember all the things we did together.

But the e-mail promo that landed in my inbox sounds a tad desperate. 'When you buy this CD could you please pretend to be excited or thankful, or could you run into the record shop, breathe heavily and ask them if they have this CD? This way maybe the shops would buy more copies from me, or the stranger next to you would also buy one.' OK, everyone, try to sound breathless at the cashier.
