If you're walking a dog, it's wise to take along a good dose of common sense

As the saying goes, there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. A reader sent us a video clip of an expat owner throwing a temper tantrum at a dog park on The Peak yesterday and threatened to put it on YouTube. We're sure that would make the character a worldwide cyber hit. But for legal reasons, we can't show shots taken from it here.

'Whose dog is it? Whose dog is it?' the man keeps barking in the clip at a group of domestic helpers and other women. 'He bit my dog. I am going to call the SPCA and have it caught.'

Apparently for this man, a sniff is a bite and a dog growl is a mortal threat.

According to our alert reader, the incident happened when the group of women was resting with their dogs in a quiet corner. All of a sudden, two men and their two terriers came out of nowhere and walked into the group.

Well, what do you expect the dogs would do? A commotion ensued. The dogs sniffed and barked and some chased the men's terriers.

'It's a huge park. There are many roads,' the reader said. 'But no, this man and his partner had to walk into the group of women with their dogs off lead and then threatened to capture one dog which was chasing after his.

'What do you expect when you walk into a pack of dogs? They are territorial animals. Have some common sense. Take an alternative route.'

The reader said he had seen this man behaving like a bully before with other dog owners and acting like he owned The Peak. 'His dogs are always off lead and running into other dogs, but he goes into a paroxysm if other dogs react,' he said.

'His dogs are actually very cute. Too bad he is such an xxxx.'
