Travel like a rock star but be prepared to pay US$100,000
Most people dream of travelling like a rock star, but those who want to have to fork out a US$100,000 member's deposit to Asia Jet, which has a 10-seat Gulfstream G200 aircraft ready to go.
The G200 features leather sofas and an inflight menu to die for from the Peninsula hotel, of course, and there are no queues for boarding or worries about losing your luggage.
'It's simply destressing, like a spa in the sky,' said Mike Walsh (pictured), chief executive of the Hong Kong-based company, at the Asian Business Aviation show last Friday in the Macau International Airport.
And he really meant the spa experience. 'Our flight attendant will give you a hand massage if you need one.'
Scented candles can be lit, but not cigars. 'Some of our Chinese customers aren't happy about it. But unfortunately we still say no ... the ash goes into the leather,' he said.
Oh, and did we mention it costs US$5,900 to fly per hour, plus airport tax and landing fees? Not bad if you're earning rock star money.
