New patient may have metapneumovirus

Another patient in a Tuen Mun Hospital ward, where an outbreak of human metapneumovirus cases was recently reported, has developed fever and coughing symptoms. The woman, 20, at a mixed ward for the mentally handicapped, is being treated in isolation and is in stable condition. Admission to the ward has been suspended as part of infection control measures. Human metapneumovirus can cause acute respiratory-tract infections in all ages.
