A woman is seeking HK$1.1 million in damages over the botched sale of a Tai Tam flat owned by singer Jenny Tseng, better known as Yan Nei, in 2007. A trial began in the Court of First Instance yesterday to hear the lawsuit that the woman, through her company Wisecal Limited, brought against Tseng's company, Conwell International, and Tseng's friend Francis Hung Tung-kit. The court heard that the property agent had failed to verify whether Tseng had authorised Hung to sign a provisional sale and purchase agreement on her behalf to sell the flat, which the plaintiff had offered to buy for HK$22 million.
