Five passers-by, including an 18-month-old girl, were splashed with a solvent being used to check a leaky drain at the Rialto Mansion on King's Road in North Point yesterday. The purple liquid, administered by a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department worker, spilled onto four female pedestrians, aged 24 to 37, and a toddler on Fuk Yuen Street. They were taken to Ruttonjee Hospital for examination. A department spokesman said the solution was not harmful.
