Wet market vendors will suspend their protest today over a new contract introduced by the government, which vendors said was unfair. Vendors received a letter from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department on Monday, saying that they could still renew their old contracts under old terms, including rental fees, and pass their stalls to descendants under both old and new contracts - two rights that vendors had enjoyed for years.
