Tens of thousands of people living in Shau Kei Wan were without water for nearly two days because of damage to a pipe. The Water Supplies Department said a pipe at the junction of Chai Wan Road and Ah Kung Ngam Road burst at about 2am on Saturday. But workers were unable to fix the problem until after 12pm yesterday. The department said a gas pipe and electricity cable near the damaged pipe had made it difficult to carry out the repair work.
