Taku in SoHo is celebrating its first-year anniversary tonight with a geisha performance and a special menu for HK$198 plus 10 per cent that includes chilled home-made tofu with crab roe; and marinated Japanese cucumber with surf clam and seaweed. Bookings: 2545 9966.

Va Bene in Lan Kwai Fong is serving Siberian caviar dishes on Sunday. The ?la carte menu includes scallop carpaccio with fresh avocado and caviar; crab meat salad with egg, zucchini and caviar on toast; and Carnaroli risotto with spumante, oyster and caviar. Bookings: 2845 5577.

David Bicknell from Oakridge Wines in Australia's Yarra Valley will host a dinner on July 30 at Angelini restaurant in the Kowloon Shangri-La. The five-course meal comes with Sardinian red shrimp tartare with summer mushroom sauce, light basil pesto and crispy shrimp paired with the Oakridge Chardonnay 2008; and braised lamb shank with juniper berries, broad beans, leeks and peas with the winery's Shiraz 2006. The Mistral at the InterContinental Grand Stanford in Tsim Sha Tsui is serving Italian regional food until the end of the month. Guests can taste dishes from Tuscany (T-bone steak with white cannellini beans and rosemary sauce); Lombardy (risotto Milanese with saffron and bone marrow); and Sicily (Sicilian tuna with red pepper and wine reduction). Also serving regional Italian - focusing on Campania - is Zeffirino Ristorante in the Regal Hongkong in Causeway Bay and Regal Kowloon in Tsim Sha Tsui. On the menu, until August 5, are baked eggplant with mixed cheese and ham with tomato sauce and parmesan; pan-fried squid with pine nuts and black olives; and home-made chocolate and almond tart with vanilla gelato (below).
