20-cent reduction in LPG price
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department yesterday announced a reduction in the maximum price of LPG. The new prices, which will apply at LPG filling stations throughout August, will be in the range of HK$3.48 to HK$3.88 per litre, representing a drop of 20 to 21 cents.

Spilled load causes tailback
Police are looking for a dump truck that shed a load of soil near the Kowloon exit of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel in Hung Hom at about 2pm, causing a 90-minute traffic jam. The fast lane of the Kwun Tong-bound Hong Chong Road was closed while workers removed the soil.
Motorist slumped in car arrested
A motorist was arrested for failing to provide a specimen for a breath test after he was found collapsed in his car at the junction of Tai Chung Kiu and Lion Rock Tunnel roads in Sha Tin at about 5am. The 36-year-old was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for examination and released on police bail.
Woman mugged in Yau Tong
Police have launched a hunt after a woman was robbed of a handbag containing HK$4,000 in cash at the junction of Yan Wing Street and Cha Kwo Ling Road in Yau Tong at about 12.30am. The woman, 53, injured her right hand and was treated at United Christian Hospital.
Appeal over missing 79-year-old
Police appealed for help in finding a 79-year-old missing since she left a home for the elderly in San Tsoi Street, Sheung Shui, on Tuesday afternoon. Li Oi is about 1.5 metres tall, weighs 39kg and and was last seen wearing glasses, a black shirt, black trousers and a red knitted hat. Anyone with information should call 3661 3115 or 3661 3260.
