Graduates find a way to talk underwater
People are now so used to having their Bluetooth headset glued to their ears that many cannot stand to part with it. That is the only reason we can think of as to why some users might want a waterproof headset and mobile phone.
Several ambitious engineering graduates of the Polytechnic University think they have found a niche market and have formed a company, BFU (Best For You), to market their product. 'We believe that many people would be interested in it because it is a world-first waterproof Bluetooth headset and is suitable for use in the rain, on beaches, in a swimming pool, or sailing at sea,' a company statement said.
'Canoeing, swimming, or using it in a bath, a spa, kitchen, hiking, cycling or fishing - no problem.'
No doubt their clients expect to talk underwater. We can just imagine what their conversations would be like. The group has made several YouTube clips (pictured) featuring their engineer-executives demonstrating the gadgets' efficacy while swimming at the beach.
If they ever consider a mass campaign, we suggest that pseudo-model Chrissie Chau Sau-na, in a bikini, chatting away in the water with her Bluetooth, would make a bigger splash.
