This week we test: BB Cream

The popular product - full name blemish balm cream - is common among Korean brands and claims to heal as it conceals. Lighter than foundation, it is great for summer.

Laneige BB Cream SPF41 PA++ (HK$260/50ml) 7/10

A reasonably priced product with fairly high UV protection, so it is suitable for daily use. It has a smooth texture, which means it sinks straight into the skin.

BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream SPF50 PA+++ (HK$208/60ml) 7/10

This cream provides excellent coverage: lightweight, yet still managing to cover imperfections and uneven skin tone. One drawback is its consistency - it's very thick and hard to spread.

Cyber Colors 4 in 1 BB Cream SPF45 PA+++ (HK$148/35g) 7/10

The colour is natural and leaves skin looking clear and bright. Hides enlarged pores and blemishes effectively.

Missha M Watery BB Cream (HK$180/50ml) 8/10

A fairly runny choice, but still fairly effective in concealing blemishes, spots and open pores. Not too thick, non-greasy and weightless once applied, it can be used alone or under makeup.

Gowoonsesang Hydra Intensive BB Cream PA++ (HK$188/60ml) 9/10

Since Dr G built its reputation on skin repair, the BB cream is crucial to the line. And it does the job. Right consistency, matte and lightly scented, it has good oil control and leaves skin soft.
