The Federation of Trade Unions plans to field candidates for five new seats in the Legislative Council functional constituency for district councils in 2012. Its president, Cheng Yiu-tong, also an executive councillor, said the labour group hoped securing more seats would give a stronger voice to the grass roots. The FTU will discuss its election plans today.
