Night shelters opened as HK swelters

The very hot weather warning raised on Saturday morning remained in place yesterday, with temperatures reaching 35.5 degrees Celsius in Sheung Shui at 3pm. In Happy Valley, 34.1 degrees was recorded, while in Wong Chuk Hang it was 32.9 degrees. The Home Affairs Department opened 14 temporary night shelters. More hot weather is forecast for today, tomorrow and Wednesday, but it will be a little cooler towards the end of the week.
