The report, 'Lawmakers show high level of party loyalty when casting votes', published on page A2 on August 9 characterised League of Social Democrats lawmaker Albert Chan Wai-yip's votes against a minimum-wage bill and amendment as going against his party's line. The party's other two lawmakers did not cast votes on those measures, but voted with Chan on other parts of the minimum wage package. Chan said that while his was the lone vote by his party against those measures, his position was consistent with the party's stance.
