Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen said youngsters should shoulder more social responsibility instead of merely engaging in confrontations. He said on a radio programme that he understood youngsters were naturally rebellious and passionate, but a successful person should be socially responsible as well as bold about doing something different. He also said he did not face much confrontation when meeting members of the public. No policy could gain unanimous acceptance from society and it was already a success to secure 60 to 70 per cent of public support, he said. The government is open to different opinions, he added.
