Heart and liver transplant patient doing well

A 27-year-old woman who received the heart and liver of a brain-dead donor while donating her still useful liver to a cancer patient was making good progress yesterday, said Lo Chung-mau, head of the University of Hong Kong liver transplant team at Queen Mary Hospital. The operation by a team of 68 medical staff was the city's first combined heart and liver transplant with a sequential liver transplant.
