Web censors working around the clock

Censors monitoring the mainland's microblogging and blogging service providers, including Sina.com and Sohu.com, will filter all entries around the clock and those containing any of the 1,000 key words on the censorship authorities' list will be deleted immediately, state media reported. One censor, Wang Guoxin, of leading Web portal sohu.com, told the newspaper the Beijing Evening News that about 40,000 of 200,000 posts on the websites' forums would be deleted. He said images depicting pornography or violence would also be identified by the computer program and deleted.
