One in 12 people aged 65 or over in the city have Alzheimer's disease, according to a study by the Hong Kong Alzheimer's Disease Association and Polytechnic University. Nearly half of the residents in private homes for the elderly have the condition, the study showed. In 30 years, Hong Kong will have 200,000 Alzheimer's patients, the association said.
