City pulls in HK$4b investments

InvestHK, the government agency responsible for attracting foreign investment, told the Legislative Council's commerce and industry panel it completed a record 265 projects last year, which had brought direct investment of HK$4.4 billion and would create more than 6,000 jobs within two years.

Illegal workers held

Immigration officers arrested 10 people for working illegally and three people for employing them. The arrests were made in raids on Monday at 12 locations, including restaurants, homes for the elderly and a rubbish depot.

Hospital tackles flu outbreak

A sixth patient in a ward at Castle Peak Hospital has been diagnosed with flu. Other patients in the ward have been put under surveillance, admissions to the ward suspended, and visits restricted. Meanwhile, 13 men in a psychiatric ward at Tai Po Hospital have shown symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections and seven have pneumonia.

There was no first prize winner in last night's draw. The numbers were 6, 9, 11, 16, 25 and 37. The extra number was 45. Seven tickets won the second prize of HK259,765. Third prize paid HK$30,115 each.
