A former Guangzhou Television presenter is suing Apple Daily for libel in an article and a video published last month. Zhang Xiaoli filed her suit at the Court of First Instance earlier this week against Apple Daily Limited, Apple Daily Printing Limited and Next Media Interactive Limited - the proprietor and publisher, the printer and the provider of internet content, respectively - and the newspaper's chief editor, Cheng Ming-yan. In addition to damages, she is seeking an injunction requiring them to remove the content.
