New auxiliary chief named

James Yiu Yeung-lung has been appointed commander of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force with effect from next Friday. The appointment was made by Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, and Yiu will succeed retiring Commandant Arthur Kwok Chi-shun. Yiu, 55, is the managing director of a capital management consultancy firm. He joined the auxiliary force as a constable in June 1976 and was promoted to deputy commandant in July 2007.
