Marine police seized HK$1.6 million worth of computer hard disks in Sai Kung during an anti-smuggling operation early yesterday. The seizure was made after officers lay in wait at observation posts at Tsam Chuk Wan off Tai Mong Tsai Road for eight hours, police said. Six men were found unloading goods from a car at the waterfront shortly after two speedboats arrived at about 3.30am. The men abandoned the car and goods and fled in the speedboats when officers moved in. No one was arrested. Police seized 82 boxes of computer hard disks from the car.
