Former Australian international athlete Clinton Mackevicius shattered the course record in the second round of the AVOHK Adidas 5K Series at Bowen Road yesterday. The 32-year-old from Melbourne, a regular visitor to Hong Kong, ran a time of 14 minutes and 34 seconds to chop more than half a minute from the previous course record of 15:10 set by Thomas Kiprotich last year. 'I'm training for a triathlon right now so I'm in pretty good shape,' said Mackevicius, whose personal best is 14:01. 'I've trained with Thomas [Kiprotich] a number of times and I think this distance is where we meet, as he is a distance runner where I'm happiest at 1,500m.' Ros Barker won the women's race.
