Stress taking a toll, survey shows

Nearly 78 per cent of 803 respondents in a survey by the Chinese University of Hong Kong said they always feel tired and sleepy, and 42.9 per cent said their condition had worsened in the past two years. About 44 per cent said both their mental and physical health had deteriorated after the financial meltdown in late 2008, while 48 per cent said it was because of heavier stress from work. In addition, 1.2 per cent said they were so depressed that they thought about committing suicide.
