Heptathlete Rebecca Wardell easily won the women's shot put competition in yesterday's Xtep Athletic League meet at Tseung Kwan O. The New Zealander has spent the past four weeks in Sha Tin to acclimatise in preparation for next month's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. 'We stayed in Hong Kong before the Beijing Olympics so we chose to come back here to get ready for Delhi,' Wardell, 32, said. 'I hope to win a Commonwealth Games medal but there are five or six girls all of a similar standard so I need to work hard on my preparation.'
