Nobel winner absent from event
Alzheimer's-afflicted Nobel physics laureate Charles Kao Kuen was absent from an event to raise awareness of the disease as he was 'a little bit unwell' and was 'throwing a tantrum at home', a spokesman for the event quoted Kao's wife, Gwen Kao Wong May-wan, as saying. Kao's behaviour was a symptom of Alzheimer's, he said.
Bacteria found in reusable bags
A survey has found disease-causing bacteria in reusable grocery bags used by school children. Of 48 bags collected outside a school, a quarter contained salmonella, said Lion Rock Institute and Momentum 107.
Women hurt in bee attack
Four women were injured when a swarm of bees attacked them in Sha Chau Marine Park, Lantau. They were taken to Tuen Mun Hospital.
