Hong Kong is tailoring competitive packages to woo event planners. The 'Hong Kong Rewards Privilege Programme' offers perks according to the size of the meetings group.

Apart from shopping and dining offers, free programmes showcasing Chinese culture, such as face-changing, kung-fu shows, lion dances and fortune-telling, are also available for overseas groups. 'The core strengths of Hong Kong give us an edge over other tourism organisations,' says Gilly Wong, meetings and general manager of Exhibition Hong Kong, Mice and cruise. 'These advantages include Hong Kong's strategic location,' she says. The city's other strengths include the 144-hour visa for approved tour groups to enter Guangdong. In addition, 'our world-class infrastructure, sophisticated professional services and proven track record in staging Mice events' make Hong Kong an ideal destination, Wong says.
