Our dear leader goes to great lengths to get in touch with ordinary citizens like you and me. There is, for example, a new Facebook page called Upper Albert Road that his propagandists - sorry, make that 'information officers' - regularly update to report on Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen's daily activities.
For example, there is a touching photo, which expresses admiration for a giant lantern (pictured) built by a group of students, ostensibly to promote the government's 'raise the anchor' campaign, its bid at constitutional reform for the 2012 elections.
Unfortunately, Facebook doesn't just make you friends, it also attracts enemies, or at least critics.
As pointed out by comments posted on the government page, the bauhinia on the SAR flag is at the wrong angle, and the famed pink dolphin in the corner looks more distressed than pleased by the lantern ferry Donald and executive councillors Ronald Arculli and Anna Wu Hung-yuk are riding on.
'It looks to me the lantern is more a satirical statement than a promotion for the government,' someone wrote on the page.
