Survey finds pupils with emotional problems

Forty per cent of senior primary pupils suffer from emotional ailments that make it difficult for them to enjoy life, a study conducted by the University of Hong Kong shows. Some 1,179 pupils from 25 primary schools took part in the survey on the state of their emotional health, and 43 per cent of respondents said they were burdened with emotional problems. They cited heavy school work, exam pressure and overprotective parents as factors in their emotional malaise.
