Ex-buildings chief denies toilet-leak charge

Former Buildings Department chief Dr Choi Yu-leuk yesterday pleaded not guilty to failing to comply with an order to stop water seeping from his flat on Prince Edward Road West to a neighbour's flat. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department issued Choi a nuisance order to repair the floor and walls of his toilet on March 5. Special Magistrate Veronica Heung Shuk-han adjourned the case to Tuesday for a pre-trial review.
