Police have seized for inspection 12 school buses that may have been modified illegally. A man, 57, was also arrested for allegedly driving while disqualified. Checks showed the buses had extra seats that blocked emergency exits, while some of the fire extinguishers had expired or were not working. A person who illegally installs extra seats on a vehicle can be fined HK$10,000 and jailed for six months. Faulty fire extinguishers may lead to a HK$5,000 fine and three months' jail.
